M3GAN – best friend. Killing machine. Fashion icon? It’s official, from killing at the box office to slaying in the fashion world Heaven by Marc Jacobs has put our cover girl in their latest campaign. The brand shared a post of M3GAN wearing pieces from their latest collection, including the God Help Me zip-up hoodie (currently sold out on the site). Have a look.
The line is heavily inspired by a ’90s alternative post-grunge aesthetic, with tons of Deftones pieces in the mix, from “Shove It” hairclips and jewelry โa reference to the Deftones’ 1997 “My Own Summer (Shove It)” โ to shirts and sweaters featuring familiar imagery from across the band’s discography. You’ll also spot Deftones frontman Chino Moreno in the campaign. The only thing not inspired by an authentic ’90s experience is maybe the price tag. These are not circa 1997 $30 Hot Topic hoodies, the designer version of the duds will run you just under $300 for the hoodie M3GAN is sporting. The sweater features art and text from the 2003 track “Bloody Cape” and is produced as a collaboration between Heaven and Stray Rats.
M3GAN is the it-girl of the year, and it looks like that street cred is only going to grow. From box office sensation to Haus of Blum high fashion model, with a sequel in the works. Horror and fashion have often found themselves in the same sandbox, take a look at this Gucci campaign heavily inspired by Stanley Kubrick from last summer, or this PETA faux fashion campaign (not to mention the iconic fashion that drips thicker than blood in so many horror movies). We’re here for it. And we can’t wait to see what M3GAN will slay next.
