When the first trailer for Gerard Johnstone’s M3GAN dropped a week or so ago, all productivity at FANGORIA HQ came to a screeching halt. Screencaps were taken. Memes were made. Maybe even a gif or two. The rest of the horror community seemed to share our excitement, immediately recognizing M3GAN for the scary-yet-goofy film it almost definitely is and making more M3GAN gifs than we ever could have imagined.
Bottom line? People seem very excited about Johnstone’s film (particularly the fact that it’s written by Akela Cooper, who also scripted Malignant), and today brings news that should make them very happy, indeed: according to Deadline, Blumhouse has bumped M3GAN‘s release date up a full week, to January 6th.
That’s all there is to report on M3GAN for the moment, but rest assured that we’re keeping a very close eye on this one and will have further updates in front of you just as soon as they roll in. While you’re waiting on the next one to arrive, why not relive the magic of “a week or so ago” by rewatching the M3GAN trailer now?
You’re welcome. M3GAN opens on January 6th.
