According to a new report over at Deadline, wildly successful content creator, podcaster, and entrepreneur Markiplier has launched production on Iron Lung, a submarine-based horror film based on the 2022 video game of the same name. That game put players in the shoes of “an unnamed convict who explores an ocean of blood on a desolate moon in a rusty submarine named the ‘Iron Lung.'”
In addition to personally financing, writing and directing the Iron Lung adaptation, Markiplier will also be starring in the film (also in the film: The Plot Against America‘s Caroline Rose Kaplan). That’s him in a scene from Iron Lung up at the top of the page. We’re already getting claustrophic!
Here’s a teaser trailer for the film, which comes our way via the good folks at Bloody Disgusting:
Will Markiplier’s Iron Lung follow the plot of Dave Szymanski’s game? That remains unclear (Deadline says that plot details remain under wraps), but we’re certainly curious to see how this one shakes out. Stay tuned for further updates on Markiplier’s Iron Lung as they roll in, gang!
