We have such sights to show you!

In what will surely come as a shock to my fellow Hellraiser fans (#JusticeForBloodline), the latest iteration of the franchise — a reboot directed by David Bruckner (The Night House, The Ritual) and headed to Hulu later this year — has been slapped with the dreaded “R” rating, meaning you cannot watch it unless you are accompanied by a parent or guardian if you are under the age of 17.

You’re probably wondering what for. Well,

โ€œStrong bloody horror violence and gore, language throughout, some sexual content, and brief graphic nudity.โ€

Alright, enough with the bit: The above sounds correct! Strong violence, gore, naughty words, sex stuff, and your standard-issue “brief graphic nudity” warning. Everything in its right place!

At this point I’d like to take the opportunity to tell you several things. One, we’ve got some excellent coverage of Bruckner’s Hellraiser headed your way in the next issue of FANGORIA Magazine; Two, this Hellraiser reboot may represent my most highly-anticipated horror title of the year. It’s been a good long while since we saw someone of Bruckner’s talent tackle this franchise, and (as an added bonus!) he’s brought along Super Dark Times and The Night House scribes Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski. I’d put money on them knocking it out of Hell’s ballpark.

When will we actually get to see the new Hellraiser? We’re still waiting on a release date, but we’re also guessing it’ll land somewhere within spooky season. (What, you expect ’em to drop this bad boy on Christmas?) Stay tuned for more on Hulu’s Hellraiser as it becomes available.
