  • Locked In (UK/France)

Bitter rivalries, betrayal, and murder lie at the heart of Locked In, a new psychological thriller that dropped on Netflix on November 1.

Pushing Daisies’ Anna Friel stars as Nicky, a kindly nurse trying to uncover what happened to her patient Katherine (Famke Janssen), who has a rare nervous system disorder that causes complete paralysis of all but the eye muscles (terrifying). The film was directed by Lebanese filmmaker Nour Wazzi from a script by Rowan Joffe.

  • Deep Fear (UK)

Not to be confused with the 2022 French-Belgium horror film of the same name, British shark attack horror Deep Fear asks what happens when you combine frenzied man-eating tiger sharks with dangerous drug traffickers. Our guess? Not a family-friendly vacation.

Here to find out is Naomi (Madalina Ghenea), an accomplished yachtswoman whose attempt to help the survivors of a sinking vessel results in her being forced to dive into shark-infested waters to retrieve 850 kilos of cocaine. Deep Fear took a bite out of digital platforms on November 3, and you can check out the trailer right here.

  • Project Z (Norway)

A group of student filmmakers shooting a zombie flick in an abandoned mountain motel start to experience strange phenomena after an asteroid crashes nearby. That's the set-up for the wacky Norwegian horror comedy Project Z, which looks like it leans hard into the classic "and then the movie became real!" horror trope.

Henrik Martin Dahlsbakken wrote and directed Project Z. Dark Star Pictures brought the film to select theatres on November 3 and will give it a digital and DVD release on November 11.

  • Mastemah (France/Belgium)

Following a traumatic accident during a hypnosis session, a young psychiatrist, Louise (Camille Razat), opens a new office in the middle of nowhere in director Didier D. Daarwin's Mastemah. Unfortunately, Louise's woes are far from over. After she begins analyzing a dark and mysterious man, people around her start to die.

Who is the man? Why are people dying? What's going on? Head on over to Shudder to find out—the French-language film was added to the catalog on November 6! Check out what else will be added to Shudder's catalog this month.

  • The Loch Ness Horror (UK)

Fellow Scots, rejoice! Our girl Nessie is getting her moment in the sun in writer-director Tyler James' The Loch Ness Horror, coming to digital platforms on November 7.

The film sees Nessie escaping her loch, attacking submarines, and—judging by the poster at least—heading straight to London for a wee snack. I know who I'm rooting for. Eat well, lassie.

  • Monsternado (UK)

Hear me out: what if, instead of just sharks in your tornado, you had every prehistoric monster imaginable? No, I'm not high—that's the plot of Monsternado, the second film from Tyler James to make this month's list.

Uncork'd Entertainment is behind Monsternado, which sees the titular extreme weather event forming in the Bermuda Triangle before making its way inland. Prepare for pterodactyls, giant octopuses, and more when the film sweeps onto digital platforms on November 14.

  • Wintertide (Canada)

Better bundle up because Canadian horror Wintertide is bringing a chill to VOD platforms on November 14.

John Barnard directed Wintertide and co-wrote the script with Carrie-May Siggins. Niamh Carolan stars as Beth, a volunteer watchperson in an isolated Northern city where a plague of depression has transformed the few remaining residents into empty, zombie-like automatons. By entering an alternative dimension via her dreams, Beth has managed to stave off the illness. But how long can she continue before it consumes her?

  • The Goldsmith (Italy)

Be careful who you mess with. That's a lesson three criminals learn the hard way in The Goldsmith, an Italian horror-thriller from director Vincenzo Ricchiuto.

In the film, a trio of young robbers break into an isolated house belonging to an elderly goldsmith and his wife. Easy score, right? Wrong. Dead wrong. Find out if all that glitters is truly gold when The Goldsmith arrives on VOD platforms on November 17.

  • Do Not Disturb (Canada)

Love will tear us apart in Do Not Disturb, a psychedelic post-nuptial nightmare from writer-director John Ainslie.

Set in Miami, Do Not Disturb follows long-time couple Chloe (Kimberly Laferriere) and Jack (Rogan Christopher), who decide to do peyote on their honeymoon. But far from strengthening their rocky relationship, the drug unlocks a dangerous new desire in them: the urge to consume human flesh. Eat it up on VOD platforms from November 21.

  • Crocodile Island (China)

In the mood for a creature feature? From co-directors Shixing Xu and Simon Zhao, Crocodile Island is getting a digital and DVD release on November 21.

Set in an area around the Devil's Sea, aka the Bermuda Triangle of Asia, Crocodile Island sees a plane malfunction strand a father and daughter on the titular toothy island, forcing them and other survivors to battle giant crocs and other horrors. Hope they backed their crocodile repellent.

  • Visitors (Japan)

Hot off its world premiere at Fantastic Fest 2023, director Kenichi Ugana's Visitors is coming to SCREAMBOX on November 21.

Clocking in at just over an hour, this slimy splatterfest follows a rock 'n' roll band who drop in unannounced on a friend. What follows is a wackadoo reverie of monsters and mayhem.

That's it for November, folks! Check back in December for more international releases to chill your bones this winter.
