Next Exit, the directorial feature-length debut from Mali Elfman, will finally see a UK release date in February, Digital Spy confirmed today.
The sci-fi ghost story, which stars Rahul Kohli (Midnight Mass), Katie Parker (The Haunting of Hill House) and Karen Gillan (Doctor Who), was released in the States in November of last year. Thanks to Blue Finch Film Releasing, UK audiences can catch Next Exit on digital platforms from February 20.
Next Exit‘s plot reads as follows:
When a research scientist (Gillan) makes national news proving she can track people into the afterlife, Rose (Parker) sees a way out and Teddy (Kohli) sees his chance to finally make it. These two strangers are thrown together for a race of a road trip, as they make their way to join the doctor’s study. Secrets are revealed along the way โ Rose is haunted by a ghostly presence that she canโt outrun, and Teddy is forced to confront his past. As these two unlikely road trip buddies quarrel their way across the country, they meet people along the way who force them to reckon with what is really driving them.
Kohli and Parker have previously worked together on Mike Flanagan’s The Haunting of Bly Manor. In an interview with Digital Spy, Kohli details – despite Next Exit‘s heavy themes – his enjoyable time on set ‘sitting in a car, which was the only place where we had heating, talking and messing around and trying to make [Parker] laugh.’
