Nicolas Cage is adding another genre feature to his well-stacked filmography (which you can read about in the upcoming newsstand issue of FANGORIA!) with Sympathy for the Devil, an upcoming psychological thriller for which RLJE has nabbed the North America, UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand rights to. Christian Mercuriโ€™s Capstone Global are handling worldwide sales.ย 

Sympathy for the Devil is directed by Yuval Adler (Bethlehem,ย The Operative),andย is the feature screenwriting debut of Luke Paradise.ย ย As mentioned, it stars Nic Cage and Joel Kinnaman (The Suicide Squadย 1 & 2,ย Silent Night). Let’s have a read of the official plot synopsis:

After being forced to drive a mysterious passenger at gunpoint, a man finds himself in a high-stakes game of cat and mouse where it becomes clear that not everything is at it seems.

Cage also produced the film along withย Alex Lebovici (Barbarian), Allan Ungar (Bandit) and Stuart Manashil (Pieces of a Woman).ย ย It is executive produced by Paradise, Christian Mercuri (Out of the Furnace), David Haring (The Old Way), Marc Goldberg (Final Score), David Sullivan (The Rise of the Krays), Tim Moore, Jason Soto, Courtney Chenn (Come Away) andย Waylen Lin (Bill & Ted Face the Music).

Sympathy for the Devil will mark Cage’s eighth collaboration with RLJE films, including Panos Cosmatos’ psychedelic revenge flick Mandy. RLJE Film Chief Acquisitions Officer Mark Ward had this to say about teaming up again with the legendary actor:

Once again, he doesnโ€™t disappoint.ย ย In this film, Cage and Joel Kinnaman bring to life a suspenseful tale on screen that will keep audiences guessing.
