One of our most highly-anticipated movies of 2024 is Fede Alvarez’s Alien: Romulus, which recently debuted its first teaser trailer to a largely rapturous response. A back-to-basics Alien movie? With an emphasis on practical FX? And we get to see it on the big screen, rather than at home, on Hulu? And it’s from noted madman Fede Alvarez? Hard not to get excited about a thing like that.
Maybe you’re excited, too. And if so, here’s something you should probably be aware of: this year, in celebration of Alien Day (that’d be every April 26th), 20th Century will drop the Alien: 45th Anniversary Re-Release in theaters. Have you ever seen Ridley Scott’s original Alien on the big screen? If not, you should damn well make sure to have that experience whenever given the opportunity.
As an added bonus, Bloody Disgusting tells us that the film will be preceded by “Alien: A Conversation with Ridley Scott & Fede Alvarez,” which will find both directors discussing the movie that started it all (and, yes, we assume there’ll be some Alien: Romulus talk in there, as well).
