Yesterday, during this year’s big Playstation Showcase, Capcom made official what many of us already assumed to be true: the new Resident Evil 4 remake is headed into virtual reality, offering players everywhere the chance to have massive heart attacks while blindly swinging their controllers around their living rooms.
Let’s take a look at the trailer…
Hahahaha, yeah, absolutely not. I’ve spoken to very broken people who once attempted to play Resident Evil 7 in VR – they all look like they just got back from ‘Nam, no matter how long it’s been since they navigated the first 30 minutes of that game with a headset strapped to their skulls. I distinctly recall the first time I encountered Dr. Salvador (The Chainsaw Man, if ya nasty) while playing Resident Evil 4, and it still might be the most terrifying moment I’ve ever experienced in a video game. You, however, may be far more brave than I.
There is, as of this writing, no word on a release date for the Resident Evil 4 remake’s VR edition, but of course we’ll be keeping you updated on its drop schedule as further information and updates roll in. Stay tuned for those, Umbrella Corporation fans.
