Chucky season 3 spoilers below.
When it comes to Chucky, you can’t keep a Good Guy down. While Brad Dourif is mostly retired from acting, he makes an exception for our favorite killer doll. Brad makes his first on-screen appearance in theย Child’s Play franchise in over a decade in Chucky season 3, and it only further proves our point that this horror television series consistently delivers the best surprises.
In addition to playing the role of Nica Pierce, Brad’s real-life daughter Fiona Dourif has also portrayed a young Charles Lee Ray in Chucky flashback sequences. She’s so damn convincing that she even managed to trick her dad. While Brad was recording ADR, he came across a scene he didn’t remember filming. That’s because he never shot the scene, Fiona did. Is there any greater compliment?
While the Dourifs have had lots of fun throughout the franchise’s history, they both cite appearing on screen together for Chucky‘s season 3 as not just a franchise but also an all-time career highlight. Fiona jokes, “I’ve always been a very grateful nepo baby, to be clear. Especially with this franchise.”
Brad lost his voice for two days after doing Child’s Play 2, which required “a lot of yelling and screaming and agony.” The rule in the Dourif household was that Brad would do the Chucky voice once a year for Fiona’s birthday. The annual Chucky laugh tradition is about as cool as any family tradition I’ve ever heard of.
During their time spent filming together, the father-daughter duo got to hang out, cook, and listen to podcasts, which Fiona describes as “like winning the lottery. We got paid and people like it.” Check out our full interview with Brad and Fiona Dourif below.
