Broke Horror Fan just announced their latest limited edition tape drop… Tragedy Girls! Yes, this is a fully functional, honest-to-goodness VHS tape. Tragedy Girls director Tyler MacIntyre had this to say about this morning’s announcement, “I couldn’t be more excited about the package that Witter Entertainment and Broke Horror Fan have put together. There’s a ton of behind-the-scenes footage that was shot on set that has never been included in any release – most of this stuff is even new to me! As someone who grew up on VHS, I think it’s a reallyย greatย way to experience the film and a perfect addition to the collection of any slasher fan.”
The 2017 meta horror-comedy stars Alexandra Shipp (X-Men: Apocalypse), Brianna Hildebrand (Deadpool), Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games), Craig Robinson (The Office), Kevin Durand (The Strain), and Jack Quaid (The Boys).
Tragedy Girls arrives on VHS in a black clamshell case with two variants to choose from: a standard edition with artwork by Jay Shaw (75 stocked) and a variant with the theatrical artwork by Brandon Schaefer (limited to 25).
Each tape includes a letter from writer-director Tyler MacIntyre and exclusive introductions by MacIntyre, writer Chris Lee Hill, and producer Tara Ansley (FANGORIA). Stay tuned after the movie for special features: Behind the Scenes and Movie Magic featurettes.
For optimal VHS viewing, the film has been cropped from its original aspect ratio to 4:3 full frame. It is officially licensed from Alter and has been approved by director Tyler MacIntyre.
Producer, Armen Aghaeian is equally as excited for the drop, “I’m thrilled our film is goingย to finally be seen the way it was intended to be seen…on SD quality VHS technology. I love everything about this limited edition release. A big thank you toย Broke Horror Fan and Witter Ent.”
Broke Horror Fan’s Tragedy Girls VHS goes on sale Friday, August 13, at 12pm EST/9am PST via Witter Entertainment.
