Fango friend Ivotres Littles chats with the titular “Orphan” Isabelle Fuhrman and First Kill director William Brent Bell about the prequel. Esther is back! Or… I suppose it makes more sense to say, Esther begins. In this prequel to 2009’s Orphan, we get the origins of Esther. After a stay in an Estonian psychiatric facility, the ever-resourceful Esther orchestrates an escape. In order to make her way to America, she impersonates the missing daughter of a wealthy family, but Esther isn’t just a baby-faced con artist. She’s also got some homicidal tendencies, and an unexpected twist pits her against the family matriarch who is bent on protecting her family at all costs.

Orphan: First Kill is now in theaters, on digital and streaming on Paramount+.
