Mick Garris, silver-haired maven, master of horror and Hocus Pocus co-writer shared a first-look image of Doug Jones as Billy Butcherson from the upcoming Hocus Pocus 2. And Jones looks… exactly the same? Take a look.
Nearly three decades after the original Hocus Pocus and beloved Billy looks like he crawled right back out of the grave mere moments after sliding in for a slumber twenty-nine years ago. Tony Gardner created Billy’s look for the original, Gardner and Jones have reunited for the sequel and have successfully managed to make our favorite zombie look as wonderful as we remember.
Someone has lit the black flame candle and once again summoned the Sanderson Sisters from the great beyond, luckily Billy is back to (hopefully) stop them in their tracks before they can suck the lives out of all the children in Salem. Check out the official synopsis:
It’s been 29 years since someone lit the Black Flame Candle and resurrected the 17th-century sisters who were executed for practicing witchcraft, and they are looking for revenge. Now it is up to three high-school students to figure out how to stop the ravenous witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc on Salem before midnight on All Hallow’s Eve.
Disney previously gave us a peek at the Sandersons, and after getting a good look at Billy, it seems we’ve got one hell of a quartet to look forward to.
We’ve got one more month to go before returning to Salem, revisiting the Sandersons, Billy Butcherson, and our new heroes. Hocus Pocus 2 hits Disney+ September 30th and FANGORIA issue #17 may have some treats in store as well.
