It’s almost time! After catching this one at Fantastic Fest last year, we have been chomping at the bit for its wide release. Well, we don’t have to wait much longer as the feature hits theaters September 14, just in time to kick off Hispanic Heritage Month. Collecing a who’s who of Latin horror directors, the anthology includes segments from Mike Mendez, Demián Rugna, Eduardo Sánchez, Gigi Saul Guerrero, Alejandro Brugués.

With each director hailing from a unique corner of Latin America, the anthology has been praised for the diversity of cultures that contribute, with folklore from Argentina, Cuba, and Mexico all explored through the films and fused with political and social commentary through a thrilling genre lens. Here’s the official synopsis.

When police raid a house in El Paso, they find it full of dead Latinos, and only one survivor. He’s known as The Traveler, and when they take him to the station for questioning he tells them those lands are full of magic and talks about the horrors he’s encountered in his long time on this earth, about portals to other worlds, mythical creatures, demons and the undead. Stories about Latin American legends.

We have a sneak peek at a segment from Eduardo Sánchez, entitled “El Vampiro.” Sánchez sets it up for us, “This scene is where my film El Vampiro really gets cooking! We’re introduced to El Vampiro’s ball-busting wife as she gives him the bad news that puts the movie into high gear.”

Aw, El Vampiro, pobrecito. We are counting down the days until this hits big screens everywhere! For extended Satanic Hispanics coverage, check out our latest issue FANGORIA Volume 2 Issue # 20.
