Eli Roth‘s Thanksgiving, one of the biggest horror hits of last year, heads to digital platforms today, January 16, with a DVD and Blu-ray release to follow later this month on January 30 – and to celebrate, we’re serving up an exclusive clip for you straight from the dinner table (heads up, you might wanna save this one until after you eat!)
For anyone not in the know, Thanksgiving is based on the faux trailer Roth made for Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez’s Grindhouse all the way back in 2007. The holiday slasher stars Patrick Dempsey, Addison Rae, Milo Manheim, Jalen Thomas Brooks, Nell Verlaque, Rick Hoffman, Gina Gershon andย Tim Dillon and follows the bloody chaos caused by:
“An axe-wielding maniac [who] terrorises residents of Plymouth, Massachusetts after a Black Friday riot ends in tragedy. Picking off victims one by one, the seemingly random revenge killings soon become part of a larger, sinister plan.”
To the surprise of nobody, after grossing around $45 million globally and a cool 83% on Rotten Tomatoes, a Thanksgiving sequel was quickly announced, with Roth teasing on Instagram that we’ll be seeing it sometime (probably November, we can assume) in 2025.
