Back in March, we learned that a sequel to Lionsgate’s 2022 summer survival hit Fall was en route from Tea Shop Productions and director Scott Mann – and today, The Hollywood Reporter have officially confirmed that not one, but TWO sequels are actually headed our way.
THR report that Capstone Studios gave the green light for two more high-level thrillers, with director Mann returning in a production role, as well as co-writing and directing the third film of the trilogy.
In a statement, Mann expressed his excitement surrounding returning to the world of Fall:
โI am thrilled to be continuing the Fall journey and taking it to the next level […] Weโve got a really special cinematic experience planned and Iโm immensely grateful to my fellow producers for backing the vision. Iโm also excited to be working with new collaborators as well as reuniting with the original gang, and obviously canโt wait to be back filming thousands of feet up.โ
If you didn’t catch the hugely financially successful survival thriller (earning over $20 million at the box office with a $3 million budget), Fall starred Grace Caroline Currey (Shazam! Fury of the Gods) and Virginia Gardner (Gaslit) as friends who scale and get stuck up a 2,000-foot radio tower in the desert. THR notes that โFall 2ย andย Fall 3ย will bring back original characters from the first film, while also leaving room for new ones to be introduced.โ
Capstone CEO Christian Mercuri – who will finance both sequels – added his thoughts:
โThese two new sequels are wonderful opportunities to expand on the original.ย We want to now take the franchise even further as we assemble the very best team and ideas to ensure the next hair-raising, death defying and pulse pounding film to global audiences.”
While there’s no news yet of a release date for either sequel, Fall 2 is set to begin shooting in June 2024. We’ll have all the updates for you as and when we get them!
