Alex Wolff (Hereditary, Old) has joined the cast of Michael Sarnoski’s upcoming feature A Quiet Place: Day One, Deadline have confirmed today. Wolff joins Lupita Nyong’o (Us) and Stranger Things’ breakout star Joseph Quinn in the Paramount Pictures pic that’s been slated for release in theaters on March 8, 2024.

A Quiet Place: Day One marks the third entry into the series which began in 2018 with John Krasinski’s A Quiet Place and continued in 2020 with the sequel A Quiet Place: Part II. The films so far followed the Abbott family (Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe) as they navigate and survive a post-apocalyptic world overrun by alien beasts who use sound to hunt. The latest entry into the series has however been confirmed to be spin-off separate from the Abbotts’ story (which will continue in A Quiet Place: Part III, scheduled for 2025).

Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller will produce for Platinum Dunes, as well as John Krasinski via his Sunday Night banner.

A Quiet Place: Day One will mark a reunion for Wolff and Sarnoski, who first teamed up together on 2021’s Pig starring Nicolas Cage. To horror fans, Wolff is of course best known for his role in Ari Aster’s Hereditary, in which he bravely held his own against Toni Collette’s infamous I AM YOUR MOTHER speech.

Plot details for A Quiet Place: Day One are still under wraps, but we’re pretty sure sightless monsters and shush-ing will be on the agenda!
