We would cross oceans of time to get our hands on the latest collection from LA-based gothic-style fashion house, La Femme en Noir, but luckily we don’t have to wait that long. Co-founders Micheline Pitt and Lynh Haaga just launched their all-new, officially licensed Bram Stoker’s Dracula-inspired collection. The forthcoming collection includes screen-inspired looks from Mina’s satin bustle dress and even a nod to the Count with the embroidered Order of the Dragon wrap dress.

Where this collection really shines for me is the collection of pieces dubbed “The Armor Group.” One of the most visually striking images in Francis Ford Coppola’s take, is the suit of armor designed by Academy-Award winner, Eiko Ishioka. Rather than the traditional silver-plated armor most of us are familiar with, Ishioka instead opted for a crimson red that replicated what one would imagine muscles to look like if the skin had been removed from the entire body, striking a perfect balance of terrifying and couture. La Femme en Noir took note and designed a collection of dresses and bags that beautifully pay homage to Ishioka’s inventive armor design. Take a look below for a peek at the collection, and read about some of the inspiration for the latest line from creators Pitt and Haaga.

For La Femme en Noir co-owner and designer Micheline Pitt, this fashion collaboration with Sony Pictures Consumer Products is something of a dream come true, โ€œBram Stokerโ€˜s Dracula is truly a dream collaboration for me, I still remember seeing the film at a local movie theater for my birthday when I was a kid. It had such a huge impact on me. The costumes, the elaborate set pieces, the incredibly beautiful yet horrifying practical effects, I was nothing short of mesmerized. Being Romanian, I have had a long obsession with vampires, especially the story of Dracula, so getting to design a collection that is so entwined with my heritage is a unique and rare opportunity. I love that both myself and my business partner, Lynh Haaga can celebrate elements of our cultures that were so beautifully woven into the costumes of this film. We hope that others who grew up loving this dark romance as much as we did will enjoy all the pieces we have thoughtfully put together for this collection.โ€

La Femme en Noir co-owner and designer Lynh Haaga shares the sentiment, โ€œMicheline and I were asked a few years ago by Rue Morgue Magazine โ€˜What would be our dream studio collaboration?โ€™ We didnโ€™t hesitate to say in unison, 1992โ€™s Bram Stokerโ€™s Dracula! The filmโ€™s amplification of character through costume is brilliant. We felt this movie was a perfect project for us, considering Michelineโ€™s Romanian heritage and my East Asian culture. We are excited to showcase our interpretation and hope weโ€™ve created a unique collection with deference to the source material.โ€

This first ever fashion collection for the film will be a concentrated and smaller capsule collection that is focused on the couture details of each garment. โ€œLa Femme en Noir is excited to collaborate with Sony Pictures Consumer Products. We are also thrilled to help change the landscape of what licensing looks like with unique designs and collections that are fresh and exhilarating in the world of licensed apparel.โ€
