Colin and Cameron Cairnes’ Late Night with the Devil is one of the best horror films of the year, a high-wire act of a movie that will be of particular interest to horror fans who count the WNUF Halloween Special or Ghostwatch among their personal faves.

The film’s just a few weeks away from hitting theaters (March 22nd, save the date), and today brings us a brand-new trailer, one which very accurately conveys Late Night with the Devil‘s pervasive sense of dread and slowly-ratcheting tension. It also includes a few pull-quote raves from Stephen King and Kevin Smith, should you require any further reasons to get hyped for its release.

Pretty great, right? The movie’s just as good. For those who haven’t been keeping up, Late Night with the Devil stars David Dastmalchian as late night host Jack Delroy. It’s Halloween night, and Jack’s show, Night Owls, is taping its Halloween special before a live studio audience. Sinister things are afoot during this taping, and we watch – more or less in real time – as the whole enterprise goes devilishly off the rails. Saying anything further would likely involve getting into spoiler territory, but that’s really all you need to know upfront.

Once again, Late Night with the Devil hits theaters on March 22nd, and will premiere on Shudder just under a month later, on April 19th. We highly recommend catching this one in a theater if you can (it’s a movie designed to be experienced with a crowd, trust us on this one). Stay tuned for further Late Night with the Devil updates as they become available.
