Big day for casting news, it seems: hot on the heels of the reveal that Monica Bellucci is joining the cast of Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice 2 comes yet another casting announcement, for Radio Silence’s as-yet-untitled monster movie.
Take it away, Deadline:
“As he wraps production the sequel to Godzilla vs. Kong: The New Empire, Dan Stevens isnโt done messing around with monsters as he is set to co-star opposite Melissa Barrera in Radio Silenceโs Untitled Monster thriller at Universal.”
Yes, Dan Stevens – the formidable badass who headlined The Guest and served as the secret weapon in Netflix’s Eurovision – is now in line to play someone in Radio Silence’s Scream VI follow-up. We don’t know who he’ll be playing, much in the same way that we still do not know this movie’s title. It would be extremely satisfying if we could stop recycling the phrase “untitled monster movie” (and would certainly make these headlines a lot more interesting!), but apparently Universal just isn’t ready to drop that knowledge on us. Maybe we haven’t earned it. Who’s to say?
In our most recent bit of reporting about Radio Silence’s Monster Movie For Universal That Still Doesn’t Have A Title, we learned the following…
“Plot details are being kept in the trunk of a car, but the project was at one point titledย Draculaโs Daughter. That project centered on a group of kidnappers who abduct a band of young people, one of whom ends up being the titular character. Woe then betides the kidnappers.
Weir is playing the kidnappee who proves to be more than she appears, with Barrera playing one of the kidnappers.”
If all of the above remains true, perhaps Stevens will be playing one of the kidnappers? Maybe even Dracula himself? For now, there’s no telling, but we’re certainly intrigued, and will continue bringing you updates on Movie Radio Silence Is Making For Universal That Remains Untitled As Of This Writing as they roll in. Stay tuned, folks!
