Fans of murderers who have uncomfortable relationships with their mothers rejoice as the folks at Arrow Video have announced The Psycho Collection. The box set, available on Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD, will arrive in September and collect all four films in the franchise, beginning with Alfred Hitchcock’s seminal 1960 classic. That’s the good news. The bad news? The collection is only going to be available in the U.K. But there is a loophole for those who want to get their hands on one who live elsewhere. We’ll get to that.
As for the collection itself, it’s set to retail for ยฃ69.99 but is currently on sale for ยฃ55.00. The set includes Psycho (1960), Psycho II (1983), Psycho III (1986) and Psycho IV: The Beginning (1993). As one might expect from one of the best in the business when it comes to this sort of thing, the set is absolutely loaded with bonus features, from stellar artwork to a 120-page collector’s book. You can find a full breakdown of the special features below.
Now, for those who are interested in getting their hands on the set who don’t live in the U.K., there is something important to remember. 4K Ultra HD discs are not region-locked like most Blu-ray and DVDs are. This means if you have a 4K Blu-ray player and the 4K set, you can play the discs just fine. The only issue one needs to overcome is figuring out how to actually obtain the set since it will ship in the U.K., but it’s certainly not an impossible hurdle to clear.
