Best-selling author and noted Twitter user Stephen King has once again taken to the platform to express his confusion as to what the hell Warner Bros. is doing with Gary Dauberman’s long-gestating ‘Salem’s Lot adaptation, which completed filming some time ago before being bumped around WB’s release schedule until being removed from it entirely. Is it skipping a theatrical release? Is it going straight to Max? Not even America’s Master of Horror knows, and he wrote the fucking thing.

As we’ve reported here in the past, Dauberman’s ‘Salem’s Lot adaptation was originally set for release all the way back in 2022. A trailer for the film was show at that year’s CinemaCon, the buzz was beginning to build, and then the film was suddenly booted into the first quarter of 2023. That date held for a little while … and then ‘Salem’s Lot was removed from WB’s release schedule altogether. Nearly a year ago we began openly wondering what was going on with the film, but there’s been no word on the film’s future in the months since.

The new Salem’s Lot stars Lewis Pullman, Alfre Woodard, Bill Camp, Makenzie Leigh, John Benjamin Hickey, Nicholas Crovetti, Jordan Preston Carter, William Sadler, Spencer Treat Clark, Cade Woodward, Debra Christofferson, andย Pilou Asbaek. Will we ever get a look at their performances? We’ll have to wait and see!

Stay tuned for further updates on Dauberman’s ‘Salem’s Lot as they become available, and keep your fingers crossed that this doesn’t turn into another completed-but-shelved WB project.
