It’s been a pretty tough week for arachnophobes, and today things get even worse, with the creepy crawly new trailer and poster for Sébastien Vaniček’s French spider horror Infested.

The César-Nominated Infested, or Vermines in its native French, crawls onto Shudder on Friday, April 26th after a successful festival run, including a Best Picture (Horror) and Best Director (Horror) win at 2023’s Fantastic Fest.

Written by Vaniček and Florent Bernard, Infested‘s plot synopsis reads as follows:

Kaleb is about to turn 30 and has never been lonelier. He’s fighting with his sister over an inheritance and has cut ties with his best friend. Fascinated by exotic animals, he finds a venomous spider in a shop and brings it back to his apartment. It only takes a moment for the spider to escape and reproduce, turning the whole building into a dreadful web trap. The only option for Kaleb and his friends is to find a way out and survive.

Battling the spiders is a cast that includes Théo Christine (Suprêmes), Finnegan Oldfield (Final Cut), Jérôme Niel (Smoking Causes Coughing), Sofia Lesaffre (Les Misérables) and Lisa Nyarko.

And, need we remind you, that Vaniček is on deck to direct an upcoming Evil Dead spin-off that he promises to be ‘nasty’. After one look at Infested, we don’t doubt him at all:
