Genre studio Welcome Villain Films have acquired their first feature in the form of Hunt Her, Kill Her, a “brutal and intense” survival horror that’s been hit on the festival scene since premiering at Chattanooga Film Festival last year.
Hunt Her, Kill Her (previously known as Night Shift) was written by Greg Swinson, and co-directed by Swinson and Ryan Thiessen. The film follows:
…a lone night shift janitor during her first night on the job who finds herself in an unexpected fight for survival when she becomes the target of sinister masked intruders. As their disturbing motives become clearer, she must use her crafty instincts and barbaric violence to make it through the night alive.
Natalie Terrazzino (Murder Calls) and JC Oakley III (Southern Gothic) star.
Swinson and Thiessen expressed their excitement at being the first Welcome Villains feature, following the company’s launch in March 2022;
“We poured years of blood, sweat and tears into making Hunt Her, Kill Her the most thrilling experience it can be, and we’re so excited that our film has found a team to support a proper release and get it in front of audiences nationwide […] Welcome Villain is the perfect partner for Hunt Her, Kill Her. Like us, they are passionate about genre films and committed to getting this in front of the widest possible audience.”
Alongside Hunt Her, Kill Her, Welcome Villain already have a number of other horror projects on the table, including an as-of-now untitled reimagining of 2014’s Last Shift, and an original production with the creators of the Houses October Built franchise.
Hunt Her, Kill Her will see a nationwide theatrical release on March 3, 2023, with a digital release to follow. Check out the film’s official poster below, which teases that we might soon have a new iconic killer mask to add to the roster…
