Just revealed by the good folks over at Variety: Euphoria and The Voyeurs star Sydney Sweeney has signed on to star in and produce a new psychological horror film by the name of Immaculate. The film is a reunion of sorts, as Sweeney will reteam with her The Voyeurs director Michael Mohan on the project (the two also worked together on Netflix’s Everything Sucks).

Variety describes Immaculate thusly:

“Sweeney stars in the film as Cecilia, a woman of devout faith who is offered a fulfilling new role at an illustrious Italian convent. The synopsis describes her warm welcome to the picture-perfect Italian countryside being interrupted as it becomes clearer to Cecilia that her new home harbors dark and horrifying secrets.”

Sweeney’s star has been on the rise as of late! In addition to the aforementioned Euphoria and The Voyeurs, she was also a standout in HBO’s White Lotus, and has been tapped to headline Sony’s long-gestating Barbarella reboot. She will also appear in that studio’s now-filming Spider-Man spin-off, Madame Web.

Immaculate is due to begin filming in January, which means we’ll probably be getting a good look at it later next year. Nothing further to report on this one at this moment, but we will certainly be keeping you informed as further updates roll in. After all, we love a good “all is not what it seems” convent here at FANGORIA. Stay tuned!
