Tommy Wiseau, the mastermind behind the 2003 cult classic The Room, is about to once again redefine cinema with his follow-up feature Big Shark – and the trailer is certainly something!

Released exclusively from Variety earlier today, the Big Shark trailer showcases a teaser of something that’s part boxing movie, part shark attack and then, inexplicably, what seems like an underwear commercial. But would we expect – nay, want? – anything less from cinema’s most mysterious auteur?

Big Shark stars Wiseau himself, alongside Mark Valerianoย and Isaiah LaBorde. The official plot synopsis reads simply as follows:

Three firefighters โ€“ George, Patrick & Tim โ€“ must save New Orleans from a gigantic shark. Can New Orleans survive?

Variety tells us that Big Shark will kick off its rollout on April 2 with a debut screening at Cinema 21 in Portland, Oregon. Screenings will follow over the coming months, with a tentative schedule of engagements hosted by Prytania Theatres at Canal Place in New Orleans (April 28 and 29), the Balboa Theatre in San Francisco, Calif. (May 5 and 6), the Landmark Westwood in Los Angeles (June 2 and 3) and the Village East by Angelika in New York City (August 10, 11 and 12).

If you’re in the area, make sure you grab your tickets ASAP because you do not want to miss history in the making. And if you don’t live in the area, why not take a road trip? Do it. Do it for Big Shark.

Anyway, without further ado – and make sure you’re sitting down for this – here is the first trailer (and poster below) for Big Shark:
