Today brings us the first trailer for M. Night Shyamalan’s Trap, a movie which we’ve known very little about up until this point. We knew it’d star Josh Hartnett, that it involved a man attending a concert with his daughter where something sinister is set to occur, and that was about it! With this trailer, we’re learning a helluva lot more.
Go ahead and watch it, but be forewarned: if you don’t wanna know any of the details before Shyamalan’s latest mindfuck hits theaters, you might wanna just skip this one entirely (and the rest of the post, where we’ll briefly discuss what happens in it).

Hell yes. It would seem that Trap is a bit more complicated than “guy goes to concert with his daughter,” huh? As it turns out, that guy (Josh Hartnett) is actually a serial killer by the name of The Butcher, and the entire arena he’s in is overflowing with cops and FBI agents who finally have him cornered. How will The Butcher get outta this pickle? We’ll find out when the film arrives in August.
In addition to Hartnett, Trap also stars Saleka Shyamalan (that’s her onstage at the concert), Hayley Mills, Marnie McPhail, Vanessa Smythe, Scott Ian MacDougall, Kristi Woods, and Cali Lorella. It will land in theaters on August 9th, and we cannot wait to find out what other tricks it has up its sleeve.
