Hot on the heels of a brand-spankin’-new poster for Universal’s Knock at the Cabin comes the first poster for Universal’s Cocaine Bear, the forthcoming horror-comedy-bear-on-a-rampage movie directed by Elizabeth Banks and written by Jimmy Warden. Let’s see what their marketing team has come up with…
Pitch perfect. You got a bear. It’s made of cocaine. Cocaine Bear. Nailed it.
Here, by the way, is a plot synopsis for Banks’ forthcoming film:
“Inspiredย by the 1985 true story of a drug runner’s plane crash, missing cocaine, and the black bear that ate it,ย thisย wildย thrillerย findsย anย oddballย group of cops, criminals, touristsย andย teensย converging in a Georgia forest where aย 500- poundย apex predatorย has ingested a staggering amount of cocaine andย gone on a coke-fueled rampage for more blowย โฆ and blood.”
“…and blood” is right. Cocaine Bear seems primed to deliver a darkly funny crime caper experience with a very game cast of performers (including Keri Russell, Margo Martindale, O’Shea Jackson, Scott Seiss, Alden Ehrenreich, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and the late, great Ray Liotta), but it also seems primed to deliver quite a bit of bloodshed for any gorehounds that might be lurking in the audience.
We expect to hear more on Cocaine Bear soon. Given that this is quickly shaping up to be one of our most highly-anticipated titles of 2023, you can rest assured that we’ll keep you informed as further updates roll in. Stay tuned!
