Happy Pride Month! What better way to kick off this month’s celebrations with a new trailer for Hulu and 20th Digital Studio’s queer psychological horror Jagged Mind?
Deadline – who premiered the trailer exclusively today – tell us that the new feature from director Kelley Kali (I’m Fine (Thanks for Asking)) and writer Allyson Morgan (Sitting) is part of Hulu’s Pride Never Stops campaign “which aims to amplify LGBTQ+ voices and representation as part of their ongoing Pride celebration in June.”
Starring Maisie Richardson-Sellers (DC’s Legends of Tomorrow) and Shannon Woodward (Westworld), Jagged Mind follows:
…a woman (Richardson-Sellers) plagued by blackouts and strange visions that lead her to discover she’s stuck in a series of time loops, possibly related to her mysterious new girlfriend (Woodward).
The film is based off Meredith Alloway’s short film First Date, which appeared in the first season of 20th Digital’s Bite Size Halloween and starred Hari Nef and Kara Young. Deadline also tells us that the film was developed by 20th Digital Studio, with David Worthen Brooks, Arbi Pedrossian, and Jenna Cavelle as executive producers. Daniela Ruiz produced through her company Palabra Productions. Kali and Congyu E also produced.
Jagged Mind will join Hulu’s recent slate of horror, alongside the FANGORIA Chainsaw Award-winning Prey, Hellraiser, Matriarch and Clock. The time-loop thriller will have its world premiere at the American Black Film Festival in Miami Beach on June 14, and will debut exclusively on Hulu on June 15 and Disney+ internationally at a later date.
