Last week, Horror Noire announced Rachel True (The Craft) would be among the stellar ensemble cast bringing Shudder’s anthology project to life. Today, Variety broke the news that True has landed the lead role in the upcoming The Last Call. True will be starring opposite Bruce Davison and Keith David, portraying documentary filmmaker Dr. Amara Rowen. According to the Variety article, the story centers on an apparent “cult mass suicide”. When survivors of the cult contact Dr. Rowen, she begins to investigate the group and their leader. As she digs deeper and begins to uncover the truth, Dr. Rowen and the surviving members become targetsโ stalked, hunted and killed. Bruce Davison (Await The Dawn, The Lords Of Salem) will star as the cult leader, Dr. Joseph Cawl. Keith David (They Live, The Thing) will portray Dr. Leonard Betram, a former colleague of the cult founder (Davison) who believes Dr. Cawl has sinister plans in the works.
We can’t wait to see this holy trifecta of horror in action together, especially with Rachel True in a starring role! Directed by Mike Sargent and written by Mike Kuciak, the movie is slated to begin shooting next week in New Jersey, with Los Angeles shoot dates to follow.
