Sistaaaahs! They have returned! Or… are soon to be returned, at least. Hocus Pocus 2 filming is well underway in Rhode Island, and as part of “Disney Plus Day”, Disney dropped a first look image of our beloved Sanderson sisters. Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker are reprising their roles as Winifred, Mary, and Sarah for the upcoming sequel. This time, it’s a trio of young women who summon the sisters to Salem and have to send them back before they “Suck the lives out of the children of Salem before sunrise!”
Hocus Pocus 2 is written by Jen D’Angelo and directed by Anne Fletcher (which is pretty cool considering she is also a choreographer and dancer, like Kenny Ortega— director of Hocus Pocus and yes, a choreographer.) The sequel also stars Tony Hale (Arrested Development), FANGORIA cover ghoul Sam Richardson (Werewolves Within), Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso), Whitney Peak (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Lilia Buckingham (Crown Lake), Belissa Escobedo (American Horror Stories), the legendary Doug Jones (Billy Butcherson is back, baby!), Juju Brenner (Vanquish), Froy Gutierrez (Cruel Summer), Taylor Henderson (Earwig and the Witch) and Nina Kitchen.
