Debate continues to simmer amongst horror fans as to whether or not remaking last year’s Speak No Evil (as upsetting a horror film as we’ve seen recently) is a good idea, but one thing’s for certain: if the final product has issues, they likely won’t be the fault of the casting department.

James McAvoy and Mackenzie Davis have already been announced for Blumhouse’s currently-filming remake, and today we’ve learned that they’ll be joined by another excellent actor: Scoot McNairy, who you’ll recall from such films as Monsters, Killing Them Softly, and Argo.

As before, there’s no word in Deadline‘s announcement regarding who McNairy will be playing … but we’ve gotta assume he’ll be playing one of the original’s two fathers … and we can further safely assume that McAvoy will be playing the other. The question for those who’ve seen Christian and Mads Tafdrup’s original is, who’s who? Honestly, we can see it going either way.

Nothing further to report on Speak No Evil at this time, but you know damn well we’re gonna be keeping close tabs on this one as it works its way through production. Stay tuned for further updates as they roll in, folks!
