There’s a new podcast coming our way in November, and you’re going to want to keep an eye (and ear) out for this one! Hosted by Catherine Corcoran (Terrifier, Return to Nuke โ€˜Em High) and James A. Janisse (host of the hugely popular Dead Meat and Kill Count YouTube shows), alongside horror queen, AMP producer and genre legend, Barbara Crampton (Re-Animator, Youโ€™re Next). Scream Dreams will dive into the actual nightmares and fears of the show’s guests, exploring how those shape the work of these filmmakers and creatives.

Scream Dreams host Catherine Corcoran is ready to dive into the subconscious and take us along for the ride. โ€œAs someone who has dreamt in exclusively nightmares my entire life, I have always wanted to understand what motivates fear – how it can shape us, hold us back or push us to achieve great things. Developing this show in a time riddled with uncertainty and fear, it seemed like a natural conversation to have. I think audiences will be blown away to unravel the subconscious motivations behind some of their favorite actorsโ€™ and filmmakersโ€™ work but also be inspired by the ways in which they persevere. Itโ€™s a reminder to everyone that fear only has the power we give it.โ€

Scream Dreams debuts on Youtube and all major podcast platforms on November 15th. We have your first taste of whatโ€™s to come, take a peek below.

Host James A. Janisse is looking forward to unpacking the creative process through these deep conversations. โ€œI often fail to remember my dreams, so I’m very interested in seeing how filmmakers and actors use their dreams and nightmares as creative inspiration. Dreams often spawn from our innermost hopes, desires, and fears. To confront and discuss your nightmares is to open yourself up and make yourself vulnerable. Hearing these creative individuals speak so intimately is a gift, especially as it leads to deeper conversations about their lives and work. This podcast will be a treasure for anyone who admires horror, genre and the creative process in general.โ€

While Janisse is no stranger to the world of podcasting, horror queen Barbara Crampton has found the perfect entry into the medium and will undoubtedly become one of our weekly must-listens. She teased fans with “Maybe I’ll start a podcast” back in August, and we’re happy to see it come to fruition! โ€œI have long wanted to enter the podcast space, so this venture is a โ€˜scream dreamโ€™ come true for me. Catherineโ€™s and Jamesโ€™ ease in hosting, and my โ€˜Side-Barbโ€™ segment, allow fun, revealing conversations to unfold with all our guests. I canโ€™t wait for genre fans to check us out.โ€

Each โ€˜Scream Dreamsโ€™ episode delves deep into the mysterious world of guestsโ€™ actual nightmares and fears. Through candid interviews with visionary filmmakers and creatives, Catherine and James will explore how their guestsโ€™ most vivid dreams and nightmares shape their lives and work – peeling back what is behind their most haunting creations, and venturing into the dark depths of their subconscious. โ€˜Scream Dreamsโ€™ will bring listeners an immersive, intimate experience, with insightful, open conversations for genre enthusiasts and cinephiles alike. Its audience can expect a tantalizing mix of intriguing questions, entertaining games, and even the appearance of a surprise visitor or two.

We can’t wait to see what the hosts of our Scream Dreams have in store. The weekly show is produced by Alliance Media Partners (AMP), the company that brought us Suitable Flesh, Jakobโ€™s Wife and Glorious, Catherine Corcoran and AMPโ€™s Bob Portal, with Glorious director (and veteran FANGORIA podcaster) Rebekah McKendry as a consulting producer.
