Ready for some new Renfield action? Ahead of its April 14th theater release, this week brings three new TV spots for Universal’s horror-comedy, which will come as great news to all of us who have been obsessively watching the same trailer since its release.
As you already know, Renfield stars Nicolas Cage as the infamous blood sucker Dracula, and Nicholas Hoult as his fly-eating henchman. Awkwafina (The Farewell, Shang-Chi and the Legend of Ten Rings), Ben Schwartz (Sonic, The Afterparty) and Adrian Martinez (The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Focus) also star. Chris McKay (The Tomorrow War, LEGO Batman Movie) directed from an original pitch from The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman.

In this modern monster tale of Dracula’s loyal servant, Nicholas Hoult stars as Renfield, the tortured aide to history’s most narcissistic boss, Dracula (Oscar® winner Nicolas Cage). Renfield is forced to procure his master’s prey and do his every bidding, no matter how debased. But now, after centuries of servitude, Renfield is ready to see if there’s a life outside the shadow of The Prince of Darkness. If only he can figure out how to end his codependency.
The new TV spots – entitled ‘Past’, ‘Work’ and ‘Yummy’ – take us back to Drac’s roots, with ‘Past’ showing us the first fateful meeting between the blood-sucking boss and his long-suffering assistant. It’s a nice little nod to Universal’s original Dracula series from the ’30s and ’40s. We also get a whole load of new and hilarious clips involving bats, bugs and blood martinis.
