Not too long ago, we were made aware of the existence of Matthew Goodhue’s Slotherhouse, a film wherein an evil sloth menaces (and, indeed, apparently murders) a houseful of sorority girls. From where we’re standing, that description really oughtta be all you need to hear before deciding to watch Slotherhouse, but we will allow for the possibility that some of you remain on the fence. Hard to imagine, to be sure, but not outside the realm of possibility.
Shortly after learning that Slotherhouse exists, the universe smiled upon us and delivered a Slotherhouse trailer. We looked upon it, and saw that it was good. And yet, rumors continued to circulate that some of you had not made up your minds as to whether or not you’d be seeing Slotherhouse. This was, quite frankly, unthinkable … but it takes all kinds, so fair enough.
Well, today brings us yet another Slotherhouse update: a brand-new clip from the film (which our friends at Bloody Disgusting premiered earlier today) that shows us what happens when a hapless sorority girl is confronted by Alpha, the sloth at the center of Slotherhouse.

Listen, if you can watch that clip and are still uncertain about your feelings towards Slotherhouse, we don’t know what to tell you. This film looks like exactly the sort of madness we enjoy here at FANGORIA, and we are very excited to get a look at Goodhue’s film when it hits theaters next week.
Here’s an unusually lengthy official synopsis, should any of the above remain unclear:
“It’s senior year of college for sorority sister Emily Young and for the first time ever, Sigma Lambda Theta is having elections for who will be president. Wanting to have a killer year, Emily Young realizes she might just be the best option for her sorority. While beginning her campaign, she finds an adorable sloth that steals her heart and soon realizes she just might steal the hearts, and votes, of her sorority sisters. But when bodies slowly begin to pile up in the Sigma Lambda Theta house, Emily and her sorority sisters realize the deaths are being caused by their new house mascot, the cuddly sloth Alpha. Will Emily and her sisters escape the house with their lives? Or is this death-sloth with 3 razor sharp claws too quick for them?”
Slotherhouse: it’s a movie about a killer sloth running rampant in a sorority house. It hits theaters on August 30th. Are you in or are you out?
