Hawkins fans, rejoice! We have not just one but TWO Stranger Things premiere dates for you. The fourth season has been a long time coming (three years in fact, but hey who’s counting!) and at last we have a date to set our sights on. Netflix has announced the fourth season will premiere on May 27th. But wait, there’s more! The fourth season will actually be split in two parts, “Volume 1” and “Volume 2” but fret not, we do in fact already have a release date for that second volume as well. Stranger Things Season 4, Volume 2 will be released into the wild July 1, 2022.

Stranger Things fans woke to an open letter on social media from series creators along with a series of teaser posters. Take a look:

After anxiously awaiting this next season for several years now, we gladly welcome the split season two. Now we only have to hold out until May, with the promise of more on the horizon just down the road, in July. Here’s the official season 4 synopsis:

โ€œItโ€™s been six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins. Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time โ€” and navigating the complexities of high school hasnโ€™t made things any easier. In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.โ€

Amongst all the good news of season 4, we also collectively steady our hearts at the news that season 5 will be the last. Or at least, the last season in the story we have come to know and love over the last three seasons. But we are left with hope, as the Duffers hint that maybe this will not in fact be the end of the strange goings-on. They close their letter to fans with, “There are still many more exciting stories to tell within the world of Stranger Things: new mysteries, new adventures, new unexpected heroes. But first, we hope that you stay with us as we finish this tale of a powerful girl named Eleven and her brave friends, of a broken police chief and a ferocious mom, of a small town called Hawkins and an alternate dimension known only as the Upside Down.โ€ We can’t wait to see what else the Upside Down has in store for our Hawkins heroes.
