If you’re in the Chicago area, you can catch Svengoolie in the flesh Friday, July 14, supporting this new feature-length comic. Two locations will host the ghoulish hostโ Graham Crackers Comics, in the Chicago Loop from 11 am to Noon Central, followed by an appearance at Aw Yeah Comics in Skokie from 2 to 3 pm Central. And if you’re not in Chicago- it’s ok! You can still get your hands on the comic. So what can fans expect between the pages?
Svengoolie: Lost in Time is a 48-page prestige comic featuring Svengoolie in his first full-length adventure. Written by Rich (Svengoolie) Koz, Jim Roche, and Chris Faulkner (the show’s creative team), the story features the untold origins of Svengoolie’s crazy cast of characters as an evil Svenbot tries to erase them all from existence. You can expect bad puns and silly jokes on every page, as Sven must go back in time to save Kerwyn, Tombstone, and Boddy Sorrell from a fate worse than old jokes. This book will surely please the series’ fans, young and old.
Svengoolie himself, aka Rich Koz is looking forward to sharing his antics from the screen to the page, “I’m very happy that Svengoolie: Lost in Time is now in print and ready for the fans to enjoy. Special thanks to Dan DiDio and the Frank Miller Presents brand! It’s really exciting to bring the exploits of Sven and his cast beyond video, working with some truly talented artists, and I think the fans will appreciate that the same fun we have in the show will translate onto the pages of this amazing comic book!”
Joining the Svengoolie writing team for this MeTV and comic book publisher Frank Miller Presents partnership are artists Chris Jones (Svengoolie Meets DCU; Batman Adventures), Art Balthazar and Franco Aureliani (Tiny Titans; Ah Yeah Comics), and Jill Thompson (Sandman; Scary Godmother) with Chris Jones and Stephane Roux providing the covers. Take a look!
Svengoolie has been delighting ghouls since 1970, when Jerry G. Bishop filled the top hat. Rich Koz took over in 1979 and has carried the mantle ever since. MeTV is the current broadcast home of Svengoolie, airing Saturday nights and available in 98% of the country. You can catch Ghoulies 2 this Saturday night and find Svengoolie: Lost in Time in your local comic book shops.
