The Brothers Philippou are just a few days from releasing their horror breakout hit Talk To Me to the masses. After a Sundance premiere followed by a successful festival run (most recently a screening at the Fantasia Film Festival), and advance screenings that have set the internet abuzz, the duo joins us to chat about crying at Sundance, getting picked up by A24, and landing on the cover of FANGORIA. Kids are often handled rather preciously in fictional stories, but the brothers wanted high stakes and real consequences in their tale of sรฉance as a party drug for the viral digital age and drew some tonal inspiration from Funny Games.
From creating as Youtube sensations RackaRacka to releasing their feature debut with the A24 stamp of approval and Street Fighter on the horizon, these guys have an infectious charisma and love for the craft. Their gleeful run is just getting started. Check out our full interview below, plus more with Danny and Michael Philippou in FANGORIA Volume 1 Issue #20 on newsstands now.
You can watch Talk To Me in theaters July 28.
