If you’ve never had the pleasure of watching Baran bo Odar and Jantje Friese’s Netflix series, Dark, you are missing out on one of the best horror shows of the past several years. Filled with more twists, turns and haunting images than some entire horror franchises, Dark (for the three seasons it was running on the platform) was an easy, reliable recommendation to make … and now Odar and Friese are back with another one: 1899.
Today brings us the show’s first full-length trailer, and once again it appears that the team behind Dark have put together something special for us. Let’s take a look…

Netflix seems to be playing its cards pretty close to the vest on this one (their official plot synopsis for 1899 simply reads “When mysterious events change the course of an immigrant ship headed for New York in 1899, a mind-bending riddle unfolds for its bewildered passengers”), but beyond what we can see in that awesome trailer above, we know the series will star Emily Beecham, Aneurin Barnard, Andreas Pietschmann, Miguel Bernardeau, Maciej Musial and Anton Lesser, and that it’ll land on Netflix on November 17th.
