Eli Roth’s Thanksgiving was one of 2023’s most satisfying surprises, a back-to-basics slasher with a monstrously entertaining opening sequence, style to spare, and plenty of gruesome kills. It was also something of a low-key hit, pulling in enough money at the worldwide box office to earn a sequel mere weeks after landing in theaters (it’ll be along in 2025).

Maybe you never got around to catching Thanksgiving in theaters and are ready to take the plunge; maybe you did see Thanksgiving in theaters, and you’re wondering when you’ll get to see it again. Whatever the case may be, today brings good news: according to the good folks over at Bloody Disgusting, Eli Roth’s latest will arrive on DVD and Blu-ray on January 30th. At present, there’s no word on what sort of special features this release might include, but here’s hoping we at least get a commentary track outta the deal!

For those who require such a thing, here’s Thanksgiving‘s official plot synopsis:

“An axe-wielding maniac terrorises residents of Plymouth, Massachusetts, after a Black Friday riot ends in tragedy. Picking off victims one by one, the seemingly random revenge killings soon become part of a larger, sinister plan.”

For the uninitiated, Thanksgiving stars Gina Gershon, Patrick Dempsey,ย Addison Rae,ย Jalen Thomas Brooks,ย Milo Manheim,ย Nell Verlaque,ย Tim Dillonย andย Rick Hoffman. Based on the faux trailer Roth made for Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez’s Grindhouse all the way back in 2007, the feature film version turned out to be well worth the wait.

Nothing further to report on Thanksgiving (or the forthcoming Thanksgiving 2) at this time, but we will certainly keep you informed as further updates roll in. Stay tuned, folks!
