Fantastic news, uglies! the Boulet Brothers are expanding their hit The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula franchise! What exactly does that mean? Well, essentially that means more of the Boulets’ signature drag, filth, horror, and glamour. More specifically, it means not only are we getting a new season, but we are also getting a brand new spinoff series and an additional special set to debut on Shudder over the next twelve months. That’s a triple dose of our favorite filthy glamour duo!
The fourth season of The Boulet Brothersโ Dragula became one of Shudderโs most watched series of 2021, so Shudder is expanding and going big on the world of Boulet. With a fifth season of Dragula on the way, and a new project that is being described as “a full season spin-off series based on their celebrated ground-breaking reality competition series The Boulet Brothersโ Dragula.” This new project has already wrapped principal filming and will debut this fall. The format, content, and cast are still under wraps for now, but details are forthcoming, and we just know it’s going to be epic.
โWith The Boulet Brothersโ Dragula and Resurrection, the Boulet Brothers have proven to be uniquely talented producers and storytellers, creating innovative, inclusive programming that smashes genres and draws a large and loyal following. Weโre excited to be working with them on their upcoming new competition series, with more to come in 2023,โ said Craig Engler, Shudderโs General Manager.
“This is an incredibly exciting time to be a Dragula fan. This new partnership with Shudder (and the AMC family) provides an incredible opportunity for us to expand our cinematic universe and to flesh out all of the characters, stories and stars that audiences have fallen in love with over the years,โ said the Boulet Brothers. โWe couldnโt be more excited about the content that weโre about to unleash, and if fans have felt shocked and engaged with our content in the past, they are truly not ready for whatโs coming next. Itโs going to be a wild, fun, and terrifying new ride.”
