Rejoice, Peachfuzz fans! After a week of cryptic hints and teases on Twitter, ย Mark Duplass has officially announced more Creep is in the pipeline, with an upcoming episodic television series set to expand the story started in 2014’s cult found footage horror Creep and its 2017 sequelย Creep 2, from director Patrick Brice.
In a TikTok video, Duplass (who plays an enigmatic serial killer known as Josef/Aaron in the previous two Creep entries) donned the infamous Peachfuzz wolf mask with the simple message ‘Coming soon…’
While many of us assumed the announcement was referring to a long-awaitedย Creep 3ย (which Brice had already confirmed was in the works back in 2017), a statement from Duplass today explains the premise of the upcoming show:
โThe series is based on a collection of video tapes in the secret vault of the worldโs deadliest and most socially uncomfortable serial killer, who hires his victims to film him for the day under false pretenses […] Each episode exposes a new victim from one of the fabled โCreep Tapes.โโ
Inย Creep, Aaron (Brice) answers an online ad and drives to a stranger’s house to film him for the day. The man, Josef (Duplass) wants to make a movie for his unborn child, but his requests become more bizarre as the day goes along. Inย Creep 2, video artist Sara (Desiree Akhavan) who craves shocking stories realises she has made a mistake when she meets a serial killer in a cabin.
The series, co-created by Duplass and Brice (who also directed every episode), is currently being shopped to buyers.
