We’re celebrating thirty years of The Crow by bringing it back to the big screen for a two-night limited engagement and a deep dive into the FANGORIA vault. We brought back some treasures to share with you in the gallery below, featuring promotional photos of Brandon Lee and The Crow cast, concept art, and comic panels.

Alex Proyasโ€™ cult classic adaptation ofย The Crow was based on James Oโ€™Barrโ€™s comic book series of the same name. The story centers on musician Eric Draven, who returns from the dead as The Crow to avenge the deaths of him and his fiancรฉ against some local thugs.

The plot material is dark, swirling around multiple tragedies on screen and off. James Oโ€™Barr was inspired to create hisย The Crowย comic series after his own fiancรฉ was killed by a drunk driver, and the infamous real-life tragedy on the set ofย The Crowโ€˜s film adaptationย makes the fictional heartbreaking story on screen all the more painful.

Brandon Lee gives a star-making performance asย The Crowโ€˜s Eric Draven. Lee tragically died on set a week before production wrapped, but his legacy endures. The 1994 movie feels like a gritty โ€™90s graphic novel come to life, and the sadness of it all permeates through the screen. Originally published in June 1994, FANGORIA #133 features in-depth behind-the-scenes coverage of The Crowย and a tribute to the late Brandon Lee. You canย read the issue for free in our archives.

Real love is forever. Celebrate the enduring legacy ofย The Crow with Paramount Scares and FANGORIA on the big screen May 29 and 30. Peruseย The Crow photo galleryย below and get your tickets forย The Crowย 30th anniversary screening right here.
