Today brings us our first real look at Roxeanne Benjamin’s There’s Something Wrong With the Children, a new entry in the “killer kids” subgenre starring Zach Gilford (Midnight Mass), Amanda Crew (Silicon Valley), Alisha Wainwright, Carlos Santos, and their two, uh, increasingly dangerous children (played by Briella Guiza and David Mattle). It looks like a helluva watch!
We’ll take a look at that in just a second, but first: unleash the plot synopsis!
โWhen Margaret (Wainwright) and Ben (Gilford) take a weekend trip with longtime friends Ellie (Crew) and Thomas (Santos) and their two young children (Guiza and Mattle), Ben begins to suspect something supernatural is occurring when the kids behave strangely after disappearing into the woods overnight.โ
Alrighty. Now let’s see it in action!
This is a strong trailer, which’ll come as no surprise to anyone who’s seen Benjamin’s Body at Brighton Rock (or her segment in the horror anthology Southbound). This filmmaker knows her horror stuff, and we can’t wait to see where There’s Something Wrong With the Children takes us. We’re guessing it won’t be anywhere nice!
For your records, we also have a new poster for the film:
There’s Something Wrong With the Children, which is a co-production between Blumhouse and EPIX, hits digital and On Demand on January 17th, and will hit MGM+ on March 17th. You can stay tuned for updates on this one between now and then, but do keep in mind that you can also get some exclusive coverage of the film in the next issue of FANGORIA, which is on sale even as we speak! Go grab yourself a copy!
