The Last Drive-In is back with a massive sixth season. It all kicks off March 15 with The Last Drive-In Live: A Tribute to Roger Corman. The special will be followed by brand new episodes of The Last Drive-In biweekly on Fridays. But first, let’s get into the details of that upcoming Corman special.
Recorded live from Las Vegas, Joe Bob celebrates legendary filmmaker Roger Cormanโs first 70 years in Hollywood with The Last Drive-In Live: A Tribute to Roger Corman, featuring guests of honor Roger and Julie Corman – and a surprise visit from one of Rogerโs oldest friends and collaborators, Bruce Dern. Following the special, The Last Drive-In continues with Joe Bobโs signature movie watch parties every other Friday night, featuring single titles and surprises.
After The Last-Drive In‘s fifth season, we’ve had a few specials to hold us over for the official sixth season. Beginning with a September special for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, followed by two Halloween-themed specials in October, as well as a Holiday special in December and most recently, a Valentineโs Day special in February which spurred a resurgence in a love for the indie sleeper hit Freeway.
Tonight marks one more special ahead of the official season six premiere. The Last Drive-In The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live special airs March 1 at 9 p.m. ET on the Shudder live feed and AMC+, featuring the premiere episode of the newest series in The Walking Dead universe.
Shudder and Briggs first teamed up in July 2018 for a now-infamous 27-hour marathon intended to be Briggsโ final farewell to televised movie hosting. However, the special turned out to be an unprecedented hit, which allowed Shudder to bring back The Last Drive-In for five seasons and counting. The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs is directed by Austin Jennings with Matt Manjourides and Justin Martel on board as producers.
The Last Drive-In Season 6 premieres Friday, March 15 at 9pm ET on the Shudder TV and AMC+ TV feeds.
