Heads up, The Last of Us fans.
According to a press release we just received here at FANGORIA HQ…
“The Last of Us is available today, Tuesday, April 11 on Vudu, Fandangoโs premium on-demand video service. Critically acclaimed and Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, The Last of Us has been called one of the best video-game adaptations of all time. Fans can now purchase the entire season on the platform available in UHD for $34.99, HDX for $29.99, and SD for $24.99.”
Yes, that’s right: if you wish to own HBO’s The Last of Us but don’t have an HBO MAX subscription, don’t want to wait for the physical release, and want the option of owning it in UHD, HDX or SD, you can now cruise on over to Vudu and make that purchase. I’m honestly not sure what sort of viewer would fit that particular bill, but – as we’ve certainly learned by now – it takes all kinds. To that very particular subset of folks, today’s your lucky day!
The following goes without saying, but because the above information is really all the news there is to report here: The Last of Us is Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann’s series adaptation of the Naughty Dog video game franchise of the same name. The show’s first season (which recently wrapped) adapted the first game in that series, whereas the next season (or two!) will be tackling the events of Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part II. The show was a gigantic hit for HBO, made just about everyone happy, and is definitely worth checking out if you haven’t already.
Nothing further to report on The Last of Us at this time, but we’ll keep you informed as further updates on S2 roll in. Stay tuned.
