Yesterday, news broke that Paramount+ would be integrating with Showtime later this year, resulting in yet another streaming platform – this one to be called “Paramount+ with Showtime” (well that just rolls right off the tongue, doesn’t it?). It’s just the latest big, corporate merger to ruffle feathers and confuse home audiences, and – like certain mergers before it – appears to already be racking up a body count.

According to Deadline, several shows will not be going forward: Three Women, which completed a first season but hadn’t started airing yet; American Gigolo, which had aired its first season; and, finally, Let The Right One In, the vampire series based on the John Ajvide Lindqvist novel of the same name (which, yes, was previously adapted into feature films by both Tomas Alfredson and Matt Reeves).

Showtime’s Let The Right One In began airing back in October, and seemed to perform reasonably well with critics and audiences. It starred Demian Bechir (Alien: Covenant), Anika Noni Rose (Dreamgirls), Grace Gummer (Mr. Robot) and Nick Stahl (Fear the Walking Dead), and managed to knock out ten full episodes during its first season.

We are, of course, saddened to hear that it won’t be coming back, but Deadline does mention that each of the shows mentioned above as not returning thanks to the Showtime/Paramount+ merger will be free to shop themselves around to other streamers and networks, so maybe it’s not time to give up hope just yet! Do stay tuned for any further updates on the fate of the Let The Right One In TV series as they become available.
