According to a new report over at Deadline

“The Lost Boys, the 1987 cult classic horror-comedy about hunky teenage vampires that made stars of Jason Patric, Kiefer Sutherland and Coreys Feldman and Haim, is being adapted as a stage musical by a team that includes Itโ€™s Always Sunny in Philadelphia writer/EP David Hornsby, Parade director Michael Arden and pop-rock band The Rescues.”

Yes, Joel Schumacher’s late-’80s vampire classic The Lost Boys is being turned into a live musical, one with an impressive, albeit very unexpected, creative team. Also unexpected? The people onboard to produce, which include The Conjuring star Patrick Wilson, Million Dollar Baby‘s Marcus Chait, and The Punisher‘s James Carpinello (who, just as a fun fact, once played Stacee Jaxx in the Broadway production of Rock of Ages).

Also worth noting: this is director Arden’s first musical since winning the Tony Award for Best Musical/Direction in 2023 for Parade. This version of The Lost Boys sounds like it’s in good hands, in other words.

Deadline’s report says that neither casting announcements nor a production timeline have been revealed at this time, but we’ll certainly be keeping tabs on this one as it works its way towards the stage. Stay tuned for further updates on the Lost Boys musical as they roll in, folks.
