We’ve been keeping a close eye on Gun Interactive’s Texas Chain Saw Massacre video game ever since it was announced, and everything we’ve seen in the time since has only made us more excited: the 4v3 player setup (that’d be four heroes versus three bad guys), the attention to detail (everything looks highly screen-accurate), the excellent sound design (that chainsaw’s sounding mighty fine), you name it. But today brings us what might be our most exciting update about the game yet!
According to GameSpot, Kim Henkel – co-writer on the original Texas Chain Saw Massacre – has joined Gun Interactive in creating two new villains for the game, both of which will be available for players to choose from should they find themselves fighting on the side of Texas’ most infamous family.
Here’s what they look like:
First up: Johnny, pictured here wearing standard-issue bell bottoms, a sleeveless shirt, work gloves, and brandishing a knife we would absolutely not enjoy being stabbed by. Johnny looks like an asshole and we will be avoiding him. Next up…
…we have Sissy, who really oughtta put on some shoes. Sissy, pictured here rocking a short black dress, an intimidating scowl, and wielding a straight-razor (yikes!), looks even more dangerous than Johnny.
As also revealed by GameSpot, it turns out that Gun Interactive’s been teasing this reveal for some time now, utilizing a complex ARG to dole out information about these characters and their place in the game. You can head on over there to read more about it (and to get some tips on experiencing the ARG for yourselves)!
Nothing further to report at this time, but – as you surely already know – the Texas Chain Saw Massacre video game arrives next year on PC, PlayStation, and XBOX (which will have it day one via Game Pass, woo-hoo!). Stay tuned for further updates on this highly-anticipated title as they roll in!
