This morning, word circulated that the first trailer for Matt Bettinelli-Opin and Tyler Gillett’s Scream sequel would be arriving sometime today, a rumor that had the FANGORIA staff on red alert all morning long. As you’ve surely noticed by now, it never quite materialized … but now, thanks to a new report over at Collider, we know precisely when and where we’ll be able to see the teaser.

Says Collider:

“On December 14, Paramount is unleashing the first teaser trailer for Scream VI, and for those of you eager to see the new Ghostface/s towering over you as the horror is meant to be felt, consider checking out Damien Chazelle’s Babylon. We hear the teaser trailer is about a minute-long.”

Yes, that’s right. You’ll have two different ways of seeing the Scream VI trailer this month: in the privacy and comfort of your own home (tomorrow), or – if you’re looking for something a bit bigger – you can catch it in front of Damien Chazelle’s Old Hollywood epic, Babylon, which opens on December 23rd. We’re not entirely sure there’ll be a lot of overlap between Scream nerds and Damien Chazelle nerds, but then again: what else would Paramount attach this trailer to this month?

Beyond its sprawling cast (which includes newcomers and Scream vets alike, though not Neve Campbell), we know that Bettinelli-Opin and Gillett’s sequel will move the bloody action away from Woodsboro and into the City That Never Sleeps, and that – according to what certain cast members are saying – this Scream may be “100 times gorier” than any previous installment.

Needless to say, we’re excited. Are you excited? We bet you’re excited. Please stay tuned for the Scream VI trailer tomorrow, and do stay tuned after that for any further updates on the film between now and its March 10th arrival in theaters.
